Day 173

5.22.2010

Scott had to work today so I wound up getting up at 7:30am when he was leaving and unable to go back to sleep. I got on the computer and watched TV. I didn't have anything planned for today until Scott sent me a text asking if I wanted to come to the car show. Him and his boss had taken the 2010 Camaro & Corvette to the car show until 3pm. So I showered and went to hang out for a bit. There were lots of beautiful classic cars! There were a few Chevelles but none were a '72 like the one Scott has.



Scott and his boss were next to the Papa John's camaro. It's the exact same one from the commercials!

I didn't do much today. I did my schoolwork and goofed off on the computer. After dinner Scott & I decided to make Chicken Ranch Dip. I got the recipe from a friend and figured it was time to try it. It was sooooo delicious!!

Today I played with Mya a lot. This is her favorite toy at the moment. No matter where we hide it she'll sniff and find it. lol. If it's on the table she'll jump onto the table to get it. If it's in the closet she won't stop meowing til we get it for her. lol

After I did some homework and took a test, I decided to work on the house. I needed to re-organize our DVDs and put them in our new DVD case. Mya kept trying to help and starting playing in the old DVD rack. lol. This is before:

When Scott got home from work he surprised me with a really sweet card & Twizzlers. We got into a big fight last night so he decided to surprise me. So sweet!

Today was Scott's day off so we did some things around the house. He put together our new DVD case with my pink tools. lol.

Home sweet home! Today is laundry day. And of course Mya has to be all in the laundry, dirty or clean. lol. Ever since we got her as a kitten she loves to "help" with laundry. Especially by laying on them after Mom has folded them....lol.

We slept in and enjoyed a great lunch with my family. Then we packed and loaded both of our cars to start our long trip back home to KY.


Our 8 hour trip got turned into 9 hours since we got stuck for an hour on I-40 where the rockslide had been. At least the view was pretty!

Today was almost going to be boring. I woke up to my mom talking on the phone to her sister. They were going to the festival in Blythewood so Scott & I went with them. We got home and didn't do much. My parents went out to dinner for my aunt's birthday so it was just us at the house to fend for ourselves. So we got Burger King and watched The Ultimate Gift. It was a great movie!

Scott in-processed at Fort Jackson and was told training was done for the month. So I met him at my dad's work since he works nearby and we had lunch with him. On the way home I took Scott to Finlay Park downtown since he'd never been and I hadn't been in over 6 years. We walked to the highest point past the fountain where some swings were. It was so nice to sit there swinging with the gorgeous view of Columbia's skyline. :)

We picked up Wendy's frosties afterward for us and everyone at the house. My mom had surgery two days ago so she wasn't supposed to be on her feet, so my aunt came over and they crocheted ribbon necklaces. My mom made a red, white, & blue one for me.

While Scott was at work I got our stuff packed so we could head to SC for the weekend. I picked him up at work around 3 pm, got his first paycheck, and headed out. Got stuck in traffic in Nashville....like always lol.

Scott got home early today. We decided to have a picnic. We finished off leftover pizza, caught up with Army Wives, and watched New Moon.

Scott sold his first car today!!! Since he got home late he picked up some pizza and we watched Mamma Mia. I also made jell-o for the first time and it was yummy!

Today is Mother's Day!! I was so excited to give my mom her gift. She loved it! We spent the day at my grandmother's house and then we packed our vehicle to head to Kentucky. This is her with my brother's gift: flowers & her favorite ice cream from where he works. She's so cute! I love her!

Today was a great day!!! I finally was with my husband after 3 weeks of being apart and it was a gorgeous day so we made the most of it. We slept in, ate lunch, and then headed out to run errands. We went to Fort Jackson to process him in there for his inactive duty, but they were closed. So since we were near my dad's work we went to lunch with him at Hooligan's. It was delicious!!! On the way back home we stopped at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. We bought some cute tumblers and I love the coasters we found!


I wanted to take Scott to the river so we went home so he could change and then headed out. We went to Riverfront Park and walked about 2 miles. We walked the path along the river down 2 bridges and back and then headed home.


On the way we stopped for Wendy's frosties! They were the perfect idea after an hour in the sun.


We got home around 7 and had plans with my brothers to watch Iron Man at 11pm. So we watched a movie and relaxed until dinner was ready and then went to my brother's house for movie night.

Today my older brother and I met my dad for lunch at 5 Guys. It was SO good!



I ran a few errands after lunch and then went out with my parents later that night to the mall. While we were out one of my friends told me her and her husband were going to see Iron Man 2 at 10pm. Scott was on his way to SC and he'd be in around 10, so I bought us tickets and we went to see it. It was an awesome movie! Scott and I saw Iron Man on our official first date 2 years ago when he came home for R&R so it was like an anniversary date...lol

I had a very boring day so I watched The Sweetest Thing. I'd only seen parts of it on TV so I decided to watch all of it.

My brother had his car towed to a shop in Spartanburg, so we followed it and then went to school to finish loading my stuff. It was a very long day and it was hard to think that would be the last time I was on campus. We packed everything and I signed out and turned over my room key for the last time.


I couldn't help but laugh the tow company's slogan. lol

So today started off ok. Went to church and realized how hot and humid it was outside. Then I get home to find out that I didn't pass one of my classes, thus unable to graduate this Saturday. But luckily the Sunday School picnic at Riverfront Park helped a lot. It was really pretty and was surprisingly a great day to be out for a walk.


When I got home I had a massive headache so I laid in bed and watched Kate & Leopold. I'd never seen it all the way through and I really liked it! Not only is Hugh Jackman very attractive, his character in this movie is dream-worthy!

I can't believe it's May already!!! If all goes according to plan I should be graduating in ONE week!! *crosses fingers* I didn't do much today. In fact I watched TV & was on the computer for most of it. I did watch "Xanadu" while I painted my toenails. The polish I put on several weeks ago was fading & wearing off so I decided to redo my nails with a different color!

What a busy & stressful day. Woke up and studied for my auditing final until 6:30pm. Then finished my paper, packed, turned it in, & headed home for the weekend.


When I got home I had a few packages waiting for me & I knew exactly what they were!! My ACU purse & the 2 earrings I ordered from Designs From the Heart! I love them!!
