Day 31

Our New Years Eve meal: tuna casserole. The first meal I've made for us that wasn't frozen dinners, frozen pizzas, spaghetti, or hotdogs. lol. We've been on a budget but I decided to make something.

Day 30

We bought a new comforter set & sheets! After shrinking the first set of sheets we bought, I finally got it right! lol. We LOVE our new bed set! Of course Mya was the first to test it out. She jumped on it right away & plopped down. lol. It's so pretty I don't want to sleep in the bed cause I'll mess it up. lol

Day 29

Tuesday we headed back to KY. I had left my cup of water in the car since the 24th. The water finally froze inside the cup! The highs while we were in Indiana were upper 20s/low 30s. It was bound to freeze eventually. The snow that fell 2 days ago was still on the ground when we left.

Day 28

Scott's grandma is getting a sun room added onto her house so Scott's dad had to go under the house to move the outside faucet & cut the water line & whatnot. The only way to get under there was through the floor under the stove. Scott was helping his dad & he decided to be silly.

Day 27

While at his parents' house it finally started to snow & it stuck! It was only about an inch but it was pretty.

It was Mya's first snow so we put her out in it. She was curious & started looking around & then tried to find the closest door to get back inside. lol.

Day 26

We spent part of the day visiting Scott's biological family. First his grandma then his grandpa. His step-grandma gave us this afghan that she made. Hands down the best gift we received. It's so beautiful & we love it. She started it a few years back when Scott joined the Army & she finished it this year & gave it to us for Christmas.

Day 25

Merry Christmas!!! This was my first Christmas away from home. After 21 years of the same thing it's kinda hard to accept change. I did get homesick but Christmas turned out well. It was different though. All part of being married now.

When we got back to his grandma's house (where we were staying) it started to snow! It was only a few flurries & it didn't stick til morning but still, my first snow on Christmas!

Day 24

On Christmas Eve we drove to Indiana to spend Christmas with Scott's family. During the trip Mya decided to help drive. lol. No worries, she didn't stay there for long.


Once in Indiana we went shopping for a little bit. I found this night light for $1! It's my new favorite thing! I think it's just so cool. lol

Day 23

After driving all day from SC to KY we finally got our Christmas tree & cards put up in our house. It's our first Christmas together. We opened our gifts & gave Mya hers (which she loved). She enjoys sitting under the tree. lol

We finally got the shower curtain off our registry that we wanted. So the towels finally match something!! lol. I love our new curtain. :)

Day 22

My parents' oven wouldn't get above 300 degrees so they bought a new stove & a new microwave. After they sat in our living room for about a week they finally had someone install them this morning. So I was woken up by chainsaws & loud drilling this morning.

Day 21

On the way home from running errands, Scott & I stopped at a neighborhood nearby to look at lights. Every house is covered in lights. It was so pretty!

Day 20

We're doing Christmas with my family tonight. My mom even brought out her fancy Christmas dishes. We haven't used these in 8+ years....literally....lol

Day 19

Scott & I went to dinner at Groucho's in Lexington. I had forgotten about the fountain near the police dept so we went & took photos. lol It changes color from red, blue, & yellow/white.

Day 18

This was me & Scott on this day last year. He'd been home from deployment for about a month & I had flown to Indiana to see him once my semester ended. I still hadn't been to Fort Campbell yet so we took a day trip & he showed me around. When we were heading back he surprised me by taking me to the lights by the river in downtown Clarksville. He knew how much I loved Christmas lights & I loved his surprise! It was freezing but we walked anyway!

Today's nasty weather: cold & rainy & windy. At least downtown Lexington had pretty lights :)

Day 17

The majority of my presents are wrapped! I still need to find boxes for 3 of them and then wrap. Wrapping gifts is the best part of the season! Other than watching the recipient open it!

Day 16

Edward Cullen, the Barbie

I spent most of my day out shopping with my mom. We were at Walmart shopping for a family in need and I saw this sitting in the coloring book aisle. lol. I saw it & immediately laughed & knew I HAD to take a picture! All the Team Edward girlies will be so excited when Santa delivers this Christmas Day. lol

Day 15

All packed & ready to head home! I got to go home this morning for Christmas Break. I'm so glad I can enjoy 3.5 weeks of no stress from school!

Day 14

I had my last 2 exams today and this is the weather I had to wake up to. Lovely isn't it? lol. It was so foggy but also kind of cool to see at the same time. I'm officially done with my fall semester of senior year. I have to wake up early in the morning to watch 4 presentations in my writing class at 8 a.m. and then I can head home & enjoy my Christmas break!

Day 13

What I've been doing most of the day - watching ABC family. lol. They've been playing good movies since I woke up at 12:30pm today. First it was A Carol Christmas and then Holiday in Handcuffs. Now they're playing Santa Baby 1 & 2 but I'm gonna study for my exams first. The 25 Days of Christmas is my favorite part of the year! Today also marks 6 months that me & Scott have been married! I'm so excited to be through with exams tomorrow & heading home. I'm ready to de-stress & enjoy the holidays with my family. :)

Day 12

Today is kind of a blah day. I woke up to a very gray & cloudy sky. I took my hardest exam this morning & decided to be lazy the rest of the day so I decided to take some pictures. These are the things I wear daily that are significant in my life! My wedding rings, my F necklace, and of course, my dogtags. :) Scott had these specially made for me before Thanksgiving & gave them to me. They have my name & say "My wife, my love, my life, my all."

Day 11

So today's been interesting. I went to my 10 a.m. exam this morning & about 30 minutes later this alarm in the building starts going off. It's not the fire alarm but I figured it could've been anything since I was in the science building. So I continue with my exam & then I hear my professor keying into the room I was in. She tells me that there's no need for evacuation & the alarm was about a bank robbery that happened a few blocks down the road from school. So she leaves & I finish. I go to turn in my exam & she asks what my plans were after this and then tells me that we're supposed to stay indoors. So I'm stuck on the 3rd floor of this building so I walk to the window (pictured above) and just watch outside til I'm able to leave. My campus has a security alert system where they'll text us & also call us. I get a text telling me that a white male with a black sweatshirt & jeans carrying a shotgun may be within the vicinity of campus & to stay indoors because he fled on foot but not sure what direction he headed. So I'm just standing there texting people until my professor comes to tell me that she received an email saying it was clear. So I left. I had planned to go to our student center to check mail & get lunch but it's located on the same street as the robbery so I decided to go back to my room. I then get a text from campus saying that the police have cleared the area & that we should resume our regular activities. While walking to my room I still see several campus police driving around & also 2 helicopters circling. I then got the call from campus saying it was clear. Not once did they mention the guy was caught so how do they know the area is clear? Luckily I don't have anywhere to go til Monday.

Day 10

What I did most of the day - study for my oceanography final I have tomorrow. Of course I took a break and watched Holiday in Handcuffs! LOVE that movie!

Day 9

The sun finally came out today! It's been cold & cloudy for the past week and a half. The highs have been in the 40s and then today we have a random high of 67. lol. It's supposed to get cold again tomorrow - low of 23 & then low of 25 Friday. My roommate told me they were calling for snow this weekend but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Day 8

After running errands to pick up more cards, send Emily her package, & get my roommate a new battery for her truck, I finally got my Christmas cards done! This is the first year I've ever sent out cards & it's the first from me & Scott. :)

Day 7

My first candy cane of the season! :D & the best part, it was free! College kids love free stuff! lol. I also realized today that we have 2.5 weeks til Christmas! Holy cow where has the year gone! Before we know it Christmas will be here! This Christmas will be a busy one for me & Scott with 5 families to visit. It's gonna be fun!

Day 6

My new required item for my next vehicle! I got to experience seat warmers for the first time today & boy was it amazing!

Day 5

I went shopping with Erin today to find some things to send to Emily. This is only my half. Erin also bought some things to finish our list.

Day 4

Today was Rock Hill's Christmas parade. Every year they do it and it's right beside campus so it's easy to get to. It was a lot of fun. They had old men on go-carts, John Deere tractor pulling a float, a steel drum band, martial arts, gymnasts, & Santa Claus. :) When it ended my toes & fingers were numb as I walked back to my room.

Day 3

I was walking to class and stopped by the student center to check mail. I went a route that I haven't taken in a while and noticed the sidewalk was covered in leaves. I thought it was so pretty!

Day 2

Today is a rainy cold day with the occasional downpour. I have to walk to my classes and this is what my shoes look like before and after the 7 minute walk back to my room. Notice in the "before", my left shoe still isn't completely dry after being in a building 1.5 hrs.

Project 365: Day 1

Some friends & I have decided to try out Project 365. It's December 1, what a great day to start this!















Over Thanksgiving Break somehow I got sick! It went from a sore throat, to allergies, to a cold. So I'll be taking this until I'm better.
