Best New Year's EVER!

This year was one of my favorite New Year's by far! It's crazy to think this is the last year it'll be just the two of us. Next New Year's Eve we'll have a 7 month old! How crazy is that??! The reason it's the best is because we got to see our precious wiggle worm finally!! My appointment was New Year's Eve morning. I haven't had an ultrasound since 7 weeks so we were mainly excited to just see Baby! We got to see the gender right off the bat. Baby cooperated for our ultrasound tech and she was able to check everything she needed to check and said everything is looking great and forming like it should. Baby is right on track size-wise, 10 oz and almost 10". We got to see both little feet and Baby kept his/her arms by his/her head the entire time, which was adorable! Towards the end Baby got squirmy from being poked so much. Enough is enough. haha I also felt Baby move for the first time the afternoon of Monday, Dec 30th. I was at another appointment and felt something roll in my lower abdomen. I knew it wasn't my stomach so it had to be Baby! Baby was also very active NYE night. Scott was able to feel it, too. Love it!! We are both so in love already with our little one. I am so excited for what this new year will bring!

I had to go to work after my appointment, but I could barely get anything done. I kept looking at the above photo in awe of how cute our little girl is! I immediately thought she looked like Scott with his nose and lips. My mom and I analyzed mine & Scott's baby photos and concluded (so far) that she has his cheeks & lips and my forehead & nose. :) I love her so much already!

Exciting Announcement!!

I have been itching to share our news for weeks now!!

It was late September and I was almost a week late. I decided to stop by the local dollar store on my way home from work for a few tests just so we'd know for sure. Usually my husband picks up the tests for me, but he was out of town so I had to do it this time. lol I was so nervous! I look much younger than I am and I look even younger with my braces so I didn't want anyone to see what I was buying & assume I'm a high school girl who may be in "trouble". lol I waited for the aisle to clear & quickly grabbed 2 tests and headed to the register. Only one was open and there was a long line. Luckily another one opened up so I quickly went to that one thinking she'll ring me up & no one will know! Well, after scanning my items she places my bag on the side where you put items you're buying rather than your bagged items. Then I hear "I hope I'm not an omen." I didn't even realize anyone was behind me! I turned around to see the lady behind me who was at least 20 weeks pregnant! How crazy!! I was anxious & uncomfortable, so instead of waving my wedding ring around & saying something about how happy my husband & I would be for a positive, all I said was "no, you're fine", followed by an awkward giggle and then I hurried out to my car. haha I figured it'd make for a great story if these tests turned out positive.

The next morning (9.21.13) I read the instructions & took my tests. I'd never taken these kind before but I was surprised how quickly that 2nd line showed up! I was very shocked to see 2 positives! I had little to no symptoms and thought my body was still recovering from my miscarriage this past June. Nope, I'm pregnant! lol The only signs that had me wondering were: 1) I had been overly tired the past week and 2) I was forgetting words in the middle of sentences. Prego brain struck fast apparently! I quickly called my husband and he was very excited!

At my first OB appt (10.7.13) they did an ultrasound to check for a heartbeat due to my prior miscarriage. For the few weeks leading up to my appt I was so analytical of every thing I felt and comparing it to last time. I had some bleeding a few days before my appt so, of course, I was worried I may be miscarrying again. My husband & I were both very happy & excited to see baby on the screen at my appt! We couldn't distinguish much from the blob that is our baby, but we could definitely see our baby's heart beating away! It was so amazing!! 162 bpm. :)

I had my 2nd appt yesterday for my pelvic exam and checking the heartbeat again. My doctor told me everything looked & felt great. Before checking the heartbeat she told us that sometimes it takes a minute and if she can't find a heartbeat then they'd do an ultrasound to find it that way. I was kind of hoping for the ultrasound so I could see our baby again since he/she has grown so much! She found the heartbeat fairly quickly. 165 bpm. Our healthy baby! It brought tears to my eyes and the reality sank in a little more. We're having a baby! This is real!! My doctor told me the chance of miscarriage now is very slim so I've been itching to tell the world. She also mentioned that since I'm so tiny I may not show til I'm 20 weeks, but I've taken a few weekly photos so far and will continue to take some & post them.
